Have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is the perfect opportunity to reach out and thank you. We are happy to see our fanbase growing month to month and we appreciate every single one of you. Right now: We are currently still in Southern Kentucky. The area is very country except that you can drive 20 minutes to Bowling Green and you have everything you need, or you can drive 45 minutes to Nashville and have it all, and more. We were also in reach of Mammoth Caves National Park. A large, expansive network of caves carved out by water. There’s more than 400 miles of tunnels 260ft below the surface. Pretty awesome.

We also had the chance to swing into New River Gorge. America’s newest National Park. It was an amazing sight to see. I can’t even imagine the engineering it took to figure out how to stretch this thing across an expanse so wide. It’s a wonder of human ingenuity and we’re glad we stopped in. There were trails that Tammy could handle that were very rewarding. TeamMSRV is still experiencing a slow, steady growth with about 100 new subscribers a month on average. Our total following is roughly 450 at the moment. We’re happy with that and have a few tricks up our sleeves to gain more momentum before the new year….. What’s that all about?

Old News: As mentioned in our previous newsletter, we are still heading towards southwest AZ. The Southern Kentucky area has been good to us. There are many sights to see, and many opportunities for us. We explored the area for about 3 and a half weeks now and are preparing to pack it up and drive towards Texas. We have about 20 total driving hours to our final destination, so we’ll spread that over 3 days or so still making it to AZ by Thanksgiving. Unless of course we find paradise before that. The National MS society has been in contact with us. We are on a list for volunteer opportunities though currently most events are virtual. Covid safety is very important to Multiple Sclerosis patients so they are taking precautions at every opportunity. There are normally walks, and fundraisers throughout the year. As the new year arrives preparations will begin for summertime 2022 events in which we will try to be present wherever we are geographically. Places where we can connect with others and share our story of inspiration and resilience.

Nashville has been a very cool stop for us. I finally got to write some music and narrowed down three songs that I approve for public sharing. Out of those three 1 is almost ready, but needs some other parts added to help fill it in. We decided that we should get in contact with a producer from Nashville and record professionally. Having a demo tape/cd is how you are able to market yourself. My songs are closely tied to our experiences with MS and I’m hoping it resonates with our followers. It’s like a proof of concept for a potential album. If I get the right feedback and people want more, I’ll record a full album with the same tone. Now that I have a demo song in the works, I can start talking to small venues about playing in public. It sounds crazy to even write that down. That’s a direction I want to go and I have to start somewhere. I plan on playing for free at campgrounds we stay at in hopes of reaching new people. With that, I’ll also need to start forming a band. We want to get a group of people that like to play, but not take it too seriously. We’ll see how all that goes, one step at a time.

Future Ideas: As some of you know, Tammy is on Ocrevus. It’s a disease modifying drug (DMD) that has been working well for her. We have also been in contact with the drug company that makes it (Genetech) and are working on some new, exciting things. They will have Tammy, or us, tell our story of resilience and perseverance to media outlets as they come available. It’s very exciting and Tammy is jacked about it. It’s nice for her to have something to be excited about. MS friendly activities don’t always present themselves in plain sight. When they do, we act quickly and decisively. Opportunity to grow and reach more people is our primary goal. The more people that follow us, the more people we can possibly help. Though I do design work remotely for a few companies, the work has been hit or miss this past month, mostly miss. I’m really turning my primary focus on our income for the next stretch. TeamMSRV isn’t free and it takes both money and time to create videos. Some of which never make the cut. I’m not complaining, I’m only stating that I’ll probably pick up some woodworking work once we reach AZ. Though our posts should still remain at the same frequency. I’m tossing around the idea of starting up another business down there doing what I did in Maine. As a finish carpenter, I have an advantage of the highly skilled training I had. That combined with my personality should get me very busy, very quickly. Before we left the North, I was booking 9 months to a year out. With all that said, I think we’ve been rather busy. You can expect the next newsletter sometime around Christmas. We will definitely be in AZ by then and will have settled down somewhere. I hope you all (y’all) are having a great week! Happy Thanksgiving everyone, stay safe.
